Boy Scout Troop 4067
use GPS to Place Mile Markers on the

Cascade Trail

Bruce Karper is trying to earn his Eagle Scout. Just after his junior year of high school, Bruce and his family moved from Sedro-Woolley to Columbus, Ohio. Bruce was still inspired to earn his Eagle Scout badge with his old troop number 4067.

On June 16, 2008, Bruce Karper and 10 other Boy Scouts travelled the Cascade Trail from Sedro-Woolley to Concrete and placed new mile markers using GPS along the entire trail. The mile markers include the name of the trail, longitude and latitude, elevation and the mile number. These markers are very important to trail users as they now have a specific location in case of trouble along the trail.
